Hoka One One - Zapatillas de trail - Challenger 8 M Black/Outer Orbit - Talla 40 2/3 - Negro

Wearing these shoes are like walking on a cloud. My dogs compete in dog sports and I needed a shoe that was light and gave support and flexibility for quick turns on both Grass and inside running surfaces. They look and feel great.

I decided to try the Challenger 8 after having had a great experience with other Hoka shoes. The fit was great, and like other Hokas they were very comfy. After 10 months, however, the soles de-laminated. I called REI customer service, and they advised me to bring them to the store for a return. However, After inspection, the store employee told me this was normal wear and tear. Ok. But I've never had any shoes completely fail after 10 months. I will try other Hoka models and trust they will have the longevity that I've come to expect from them, but I won't be purchasing the Challenger 8. And I have to admit to being slightly disappointed in REI.

A very comfortable everyday shoe. Arrived quickly by mail and in perfect condition.

Takes a minute to get familiar with the added level of cushion but once you do, they feel confident on trails, good to wear all day. Fit well, possibly on the larger size so may need a half size down.

After three weeks with the HOKA Challenger 8, I can say that I have found this shoe to be very cushioned and comfortable. The heel cup is deep, comfortable, and cradles the ankle while the soft mesh upper allows your toes to spread out more than I anticipated - which is a good thing as HOKA can tend to be on the narrower side. But that was not my experience with the Challenger 8, my wide feet were happy and cozy. The excellent grip on the underfoot was a good combination of trail traction and every day pavement readiness. I would recommend the Challenger 8 as a “door to trail” shoe that can handle a little bit of everything.
